Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team onboard our vessel. The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for guests and crew, and ensuring that all food service operations are carried out to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare menus for guests and crew, taking into consideration dietary requirements and preferences.
- Purchase, receive and manage inventory of food and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels at all times.
- Ensure that food is prepared to the highest standards, using the freshest ingredients, and served in an attractive and appetizing manner.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the galley and food service areas at all times.
- Work closely with the Captain and other crew members to ensure that all food service operations are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage the galley budget and control costs to ensure that food service operations remain within budgetary constraints.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all members of the team are performing to the required standard.
- Contribute to the development of new recipes and menus, and work closely with the Captain to ensure that all food service operations are aligned with the overall goals of the vessel.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years experience working as a chef in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or on a yacht.
- Formal culinary training and qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of international cuisine and the ability to prepare dishes from a wide range of cultures.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on call 24/7.
- A valid STCW certificate is preferred.
